Written by Francis Scott Key as a result of the Battle at Fort McHenry in the War of 1812, the Star Spangled Banner gives glory to God and the courage of Americans in maintaining our national independence.

I think the Cactus Cuties rendition of the National Anthem has set the standard for others to follow, and a high standard at that.
I liked Faith Hill's version with the bagpipes...
my brother sings it pretty good
I guess I'm just being a proud parent, but I really like to hear Timothy Keith Murphy Jr. sing it. Makes me cry every time!
Reverend, I think all 5 are great. Each artist has their own personal interpretation and style, but none of them butchered our national anthem like so many performers seem to do these days.
I’m retired from the USAF so this song has a special meaning for me. Hearing it makes a chill run down my spine, and brings tears to this old man’s eyes. The tears are tears of pride in our nation and its people. But there are also tears of sadness because I fear that this is no longer truly, as it was for so long, the land of the free and the home of the brave. Too many government policies have taken away some of our liberties, and too many people have changed.
I AGREE WITH DON. ALL 5 PERFORMANCES ARE OUTSTANDING. LET US NOT EVER FORGET THAT WE ARE THE LAND OF THE FREE,, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. PRENTICE.
Dr. Killian,et.al; A Brave American who did his part to keep the land free was buried today here in NC. His name was Jesse Helms. I watched the entire service from Hayes Barton Baptist Church (CBF) in Raleigh on TV. Stellar terstimonies were given of his courage and kindness to all. Senator Mitch McConnell quoted a Dem Senator who said, "Jesse was always a gentleman. ande stood his Ground". He quoted Bono who said, "Two million people are alive in Africa today because of Jesse Helms." (He passed the largest HIV Aids bill in history) Jennifer Knox, his grand-daughter said that her grand-dad taught her, "You can not comprimise your principles." The interim pastor of HB Baptist mis-spoke when he said, "There will be a private interment for the family." To the best of my knowledge only Jesse was interred; AND NO OTHER MEMBERS OF HIS FAMILY. His legacy belongs to all mankind now. FOX OF CAROLINA
